Platform & Features
What makes ClientSignal™ different?
ClientSignal™ combines multiple intelligence streams, firm data, continuous electronic surveys, expert-conducted qualitative interviews, and customized synthesis, into a single, integrated view of your client relationships. Most tools give you survey results. We use multi-variable inputs analyzed against decades of legal industry-specific data. The result is intelligence you can act on, not just data you can report on.
What are Client Avatars and how are they built?
Client Avatars are AI-generated behavioral profiles of your key client contacts, GCs, CLOs, deputy GCs, businesspeople and other decision-makers influencers and clients across all client profiles. Each avatar synthesizes response patterns, interview themes, engagement history, and behavioral signals from our proprietary dataset of hundreds of thousands of interview datapoints. Avatars capture decision-making style, relationship priorities, risk signals, and expansion opportunities, and are continually updated.
How does Pitch Validation work?
Before a competitive pitch, ClientSignal™ tests against the relevant client avatar, relationship health history, and comparable pitch outcomes from our dataset to surface: what this client weighs most heavily in a selection decision, what concerns to address proactively, how your firm is positioned relative to their stated priorities, and which relationship strengths to lead with. It’s not a pitch deck builder, it’s intelligence that makes your pitch team walk in better prepared than any competitor who doesn’t have this data.
Can we use just one part of the platform, like surveys only?
Yes. The Electronic Survey (EFS) tier is available as a standalone product for firms that want to run continuous surveys without the expert interview program. Many firms start with electronic surveys and layer in the interview program and further client intelligence over time. All tiers connect to the same ClientSignal™ dashboard and share the same data architecture, so upgrading is seamless.
What does “real-time” and “ongoing” data actually mean in practice?
It means your relationship intelligence isn’t frozen at the moment of your last survey. ClientSignal™ delivers trigger-based surveys at meaningful moments, after a significant matter closes, after a rate negotiation, after a team change, rather than only on an annual cycle. Your dashboard reflects the current state of each outside counsel relationship, updated as new data flows in.
Assessments & Surveys
What assessment templates are available out of the box?
ClientSignal™ offers pre-built, validated assessment templates for: Client Feedback End of and Post Matter, Lateral Integration, Alumni Engagement, Business Development (win/loss and cross-sell), Legal Operations, and Internal Culture & Climate (coming soon). Each template is built from our proprietary dataset and validated against peer benchmarks. You can deploy a template as-is or customize it, both paths are supported.
How does each assessment provide deeper analytics?
Every response collected through any ClientSignal™ assessment enriches the platform’s central intelligence layer. The more assessments a firm runs, the richer their intelligence becomes, and the richer the benchmark data becomes for all clients.
Can we build custom surveys beyond the standard templates?
Yes. The platform supports custom survey design for firms with specific needs, particular client relationships, practice groups, or research questions beyond the standard templates. Custom surveys are built in collaboration with our team and go through a validation process to ensure they integrate properly with the intelligence layer.
Security & Compliance
Where is our data stored? Can you guarantee US-only residency?
Yes, and contractually guaranteed. All ClientSignal™ data is stored and processed exclusively on AWS infrastructure in US-East-1 and US-West-2. This is specified in your Data Processing Agreement. No client data ever transits servers outside the United States. Our architecture documentation, available on request, details exactly how this residency guarantee is enforced at the infrastructure level. For firms needing to house data outside of the US, non-US residency will be available as required.
Are you SOC 2 Type II compliant?
ClientSignal™’s infrastructure inherits SOC 2 Type II compliance through Supabase, AWS, and Netlify. We are transparent that our own application-level SOC 2 Type II audit is targeted for Q4 2026. We can provide the infrastructure SOC 2 reports from our providers on request. We can also discuss firm-specific compliance requirements including custom breach notification windows, BCDR documentation, and Data Processing Agreement terms.
Does your AI use our data to train its models?
No. ClientSignal™ uses a zero-data-retention configuration. Data submitted for AI analysis is not retained, stored, or used to train any third-party model. Your clients’ confidential feedback never leaves your tenant environment except for the specific API calls that generate AI reports, and those calls are request-scoped and ephemeral.
Migration & Onboarding
We’re on a legacy platform. How does migration work?
Migration is fully managed by our team. We handle data export from your current platform, import into your ClientSignal™ tenant, configuration of dashboards and reports, and onboarding for your team, with a dedicated migration coordinator throughout the process. Most migrations complete in 4 weeks. Historical survey responses, client contact records, and interview archives all transfer with full fidelity. Founding clients who migrate now receive locked pricing through 2027.
How long does a new implementation take?
New client implementations run 3–6 weeks from agreement execution to first survey delivery, depending on scope and client-specific requirements. Migrating clients from a legacy platform typically have a shorter effective timeline because historical data provides an immediate starting point for the active intelligence layer.
Pricing & Contracts
What does ClientSignal™ cost?
ClientSignal™ is priced as an annual subscription based on service level tiers.
Are there multi-year contract options?
Yes. Annual and multi-year agreements are available. All agreements include the ability to negotiate firm-specific terms.
Merger Analytics
At what stage of a merger conversation is ClientSignal™ most useful?
ClientSignal™ adds value at every stage, but the earlier, the better. Pre-deal, we help you understand what you’re actually acquiring: not just headcount and financials, but relationship health, client portability, and cultural alignment signals that predict whether the combination will hold. Post-announcement, we help you protect client relationships during the vulnerable transition period when competitors will be calling. Post-close, we track integration health and cross-sell activation across the combined firm. Firms that engage early have significantly better data for deal-structuring conversations.
How do you handle confidentiality during pre-merger diligence?
Pre-merger engagements are structured with strict confidentiality protocols. Data from both firms is handled in isolated tenant environments with no cross-contamination. Partner sentiment surveys use fully anonymized responses, no individual partner can be identified from their survey data. Client relationship data is handled under the same DPA terms as any other ClientSignal™ engagement. We can discuss specific confidentiality structures, including clean-room arrangements, for particularly sensitive situations. All merger analytics engagements are custom-scoped with dedicated coordination.
Can ClientSignal™ help predict whether clients will stay after a merger?
Client portability prediction is one of our most valuable pre-merger capabilities. Our relationship health scores, combined with client avatar behavioral profiles, give leadership a data-driven view of which client relationships are tied to specific partners versus the institution. Clients with high relationship health scores and strong institutional ties are far more portable than those with fragile personal-partner dependencies. We can model portability risk by practice group, client type, and geography, giving executive committees a clearer picture of what the combined book actually looks like under different scenarios.
