Assessments & Surveys
What assessment templates are available out of the box?⌄
ClientSignal™ offers pre-built, validated assessment templates for: Client Feedback (relationship health), Lateral Integration, Alumni Engagement, Business Development (win/loss and cross-sell), Legal Operations, and Internal Culture & Climate (coming soon). Each template is built from our proprietary dataset and validated against peer benchmarks. You can deploy a template as-is or customize it, both paths are supported.
How does each assessment provide deeper analytics?⌄
Every response collected through any ClientSignal™ assessment enriches the platform's central intelligence layer. Lateral integration survey data, for example, informs how we model attorney-client relationship development over time. Alumni survey data enriches our referral and network intelligence models. The more assessments a firm runs, the richer their intelligence becomes, and the richer the benchmark data becomes for all clients.
Can we build custom surveys beyond the standard templates?⌄
Yes. The platform supports custom survey design for firms with specific needs, particular client relationships, practice groups, or research questions beyond the standard templates. Custom surveys are built in collaboration with our team and go through a validation process to ensure they integrate properly with the intelligence layer. Request access to start a custom survey project.
Security & Compliance
Where is our data stored? Can you guarantee US-only residency?⌄
Yes, and contractually guaranteed. All ClientSignal™ data is stored and processed exclusively on AWS infrastructure in US-East-1 and US-West-2. This is specified in your Data Processing Agreement. No client data ever transits servers outside the United States. Our architecture documentation, available on request, details exactly how this residency guarantee is enforced at the infrastructure level. For firms needing to house data outside of the US, non-US residency will be available as required.
Are you SOC 2 Type II compliant?⌄
ClientSignal™'s infrastructure inherits SOC 2 Type II compliance through Supabase, AWS, and Netlify. We are transparent that our own application-level SOC 2 Type II audit is targeted for Q4 2026. We can provide the infrastructure SOC 2 reports from our providers on request. We can also discuss firm-specific compliance requirements including custom breach notification windows, BCDR documentation, and Data Processing Agreement terms.
Does your AI use our data to train its models?⌄
No. ClientSignal™ uses a zero-data-retention configuration. Data submitted for AI analysis is not retained, stored, or used to train any third-party model. Your clients' confidential feedback never leaves your tenant environment except for the specific API calls that generate AI reports, and those calls are request-scoped and ephemeral.
Migration & Onboarding
We're on a legacy platform. How does migration work?⌄
Migration is fully managed by our team. We handle data export from your current platform, import into your ClientSignal™ tenant, configuration of dashboards and reports, and onboarding for your team, with a dedicated migration coordinator throughout the process. Most migrations complete in 4 weeks. Historical survey responses, client contact records, and interview archives all transfer with full fidelity. Founding clients who migrate now receive locked pricing through 2027.
How long does a new implementation take?⌄
New client implementations run 3–6 weeks from agreement execution to first survey delivery, depending on scope and client-specific requirements. Migrating clients from a legacy platform typically have a shorter effective timeline because historical data provides an immediate starting point for the active intelligence layer. We can discuss your specific situation and timeline in a demo.
Pricing & Contracts
What does ClientSignal™ cost?⌄
ClientSignal™ is priced as an annual subscription, tiered based on service level (EFS only vs. full platform with interviews). Founding clients receive locked pricing through 2027. Please request a demo or contact us for a firm-specific proposal.
Are there multi-year contract options?⌄
Yes. Annual and multi-year agreements are available. Founding clients who commit to multi-year terms receive additional rate protection. All agreements include the ability to negotiate firm-specific terms via Exhibit D (Firm-Specific Schedule), which covers security requirements, payment terms, and other custom provisions.
For Legal Departments
How does ClientSignal™ help in-house legal teams, isn't this built for law firms?⌄
ClientSignal™ was designed from the ground up to serve the full legal ecosystem, which means both the firms that provide legal services and the in-house teams that manage them. For legal departments, the platform provides structured, ongoing intelligence about outside counsel relationships, internal operations effectiveness, and the data needed to make better decisions about your legal spend and panel management. The same rigor law firms apply to understanding their clients, you can now apply to understanding your outside counsel, and your own team.
How is this different from an annual outside counsel survey we already do?⌄
Annual surveys give you a snapshot, one point in time, once a year, with a lag between data collection and action. ClientSignal™ provides ongoing, real-time intelligence. Relationship health signals are tracked continuously, so you see deterioration in a firm relationship before it becomes a crisis and identify high-performing relationships before renewal decisions. You're also getting AI-synthesized insights, not just raw survey scores, which means patterns across your entire panel become visible in ways a single annual survey can't surface.
What does "real-time" and "ongoing" data actually mean in practice?⌄
It means your relationship intelligence isn't frozen at the moment of your last survey. ClientSignal™ delivers trigger-based surveys at meaningful moments, after a significant matter closes, after a rate negotiation, after a team change, rather than only on an annual cycle. Your dashboard reflects the current state of each outside counsel relationship, updated as new data flows in. You see trends developing in real time, not retrospectively. For in-house teams managing large panels, this means early warning on relationships that need attention rather than surprises at renewal time.
What strategic problems does ClientSignal™ solve for legal department leadership?⌄
The most pressing strategic challenge for most CLOs and GCs is making outside counsel decisions on incomplete information, relying on partner impressions, billing data, and gut feel rather than structured intelligence. ClientSignal™ changes that in four ways: First, it gives you objective relationship health scores across your entire panel, so panel decisions are data-driven rather than politics-driven. Second, it surfaces alignment gaps between what firms say they deliver and what your team actually experiences. Third, it reveals which relationships are genuinely strong versus ones that survive on legacy inertia. Fourth, it benchmarks your outside counsel against peer data, so you know whether the responsiveness and value you're receiving is industry-standard or below it.
Can ClientSignal™ help us benchmark our legal department against peers?⌄
Yes. Our Legal Operations Survey module is designed specifically for this, measuring your department's operational effectiveness, technology adoption, process efficiency, and team satisfaction against anonymized peer benchmarks. For CLOs and legal ops leaders who are asked to demonstrate ROI and continuous improvement, ClientSignal™ provides the structured data needed to make that case internally, and to identify where investment in people, process, or technology will have the highest impact.
How does ClientSignal™ support outside counsel convergence and panel rationalization?⌄
Panel decisions are among the highest-stakes choices a legal department makes, and they're too often made with sparse data. ClientSignal™ gives you structured relationship health data across your full panel: who's delivering value, which relationships have deteriorated quietly, and which firms your internal teams would actually recommend expanding. Relationship maps show you where you have concentration risk and where you have coverage gaps. When it's time to rationalize or renegotiate your panel, you're making those decisions with evidence, not just billing reports and anecdote.
How does data collection work for our team, will this create survey fatigue?⌄
Survey design in ClientSignal™ is purpose-built to minimize fatigue. Surveys are short, targeted, and triggered by meaningful moments rather than sent on a rigid calendar. The platform uses intelligent delivery logic to ensure the right person receives the right survey at the right time, not blanket distributions that generate low response rates and resentment. Your team's responses are confidential at the individual level, and the platform aggregates patterns rather than surfacing individual answers, which encourages candid feedback. Most participants find the surveys take under three minutes.
Can we use ClientSignal™ for our own internal team assessments, not just outside counsel?⌄
Yes. The Internal Legal Operations Assessment module is designed for exactly this, measuring team satisfaction, operational effectiveness, process quality, and organizational health within your legal department. As legal departments face increasing pressure to demonstrate value and run like a business, having structured internal data matters. You can benchmark your department's health against peer organizations, track improvement over time, and identify early signals of team disengagement or operational friction before they become retention or performance issues.
Merger Analytics
At what stage of a merger conversation is ClientSignal™ most useful?⌄
ClientSignal™ adds value at every stage, but the earlier, the better. Pre-deal, we help you understand what you're actually acquiring: not just headcount and financials, but relationship health, client portability, and cultural alignment signals that predict whether the combination will hold. Post-announcement, we help you protect client relationships during the vulnerable transition period when competitors will be calling. Post-close, we track integration health and cross-sell activation across the combined firm. Firms that engage early have significantly better data for deal-structuring conversations.
How do you handle confidentiality during pre-merger diligence?⌄
Pre-merger engagements are structured with strict confidentiality protocols. Data from both firms is handled in isolated tenant environments with no cross-contamination. Partner sentiment surveys use fully anonymized responses, no individual partner can be identified from their survey data. Client relationship data is handled under the same DPA terms as any other ClientSignal™ engagement. We can discuss specific confidentiality structures, including clean-room arrangements, for particularly sensitive situations. All merger analytics engagements are custom-scoped with dedicated coordination.
Can ClientSignal™ help predict whether clients will stay after a merger?⌄
Client portability prediction is one of our most valuable pre-merger capabilities. Our relationship health scores, combined with client avatar behavioral profiles, give leadership a data-driven view of which client relationships are tied to specific partners versus the institution. Clients with high relationship health scores and strong institutional ties are far more portable than those with fragile personal-partner dependencies. We can model portability risk by practice group, client type, and geography, giving executive committees a clearer picture of what the combined book actually looks like under different scenarios.
